The writer AA Gill once told someone he wanted to interview the places he visited. That’s how I feel, everywhere I go.
These are some of the photographs I’ve taken on the five continents I’ve visited so far. There will be more.
Some have been taken at leisure while walking the streets, soaking up a city or port or village or township one frame at a time. Others have been grabbed while passing through on the way to somewhere else. Some photographs were taken through the window of a car, some on a boat or in a tuk tuk, or from the tops of tall buildings. One set was even taken deep beneath London.
Travel is the best thing you can do with your time. And when you’ve reached your destination, after having a good look at it and drinking it in, breathing and tasting and feeling what it is and what it’s about, the best thing you can then do is take a photograph.
